I know new years is a couple days from now but I just wanted to post this. As 2016 comes to an end, I realized I received so many blessings. I also had many trials and tribulations but I would say my blessings outweighed my trials and tribulations. I don't really make new year's resolutions but I do pray to God to help me be a better man and Christian each and every day. There is a lot of evil in the world and I don't want any of that evil to consume me. I don't like to be in a negative individual, I just like to be a positive human being. This year I was in situations that really made me mad and I always wanted to stay positive, my mindset was always like, what's the point of being negative. Even though the other individual I'm arguing with is being negative, I feel it's no reason for me to be negative back. I always step back and I pray so He can handle the situations(s) and He does on his timing. I always Pray when something overwhelms me and God will

I know it was a couple days ago but I Had to bring this up. Most families have great Christmas's but there are some families that don't.  I was talking to my friend today and I was explaining what Catholic Charities does. I told him that we serve people who are less fortunate than us. I also told him we serve people who are homeless and who need assistance on such things like paying their bills. The keyword that he used was thankful. We take a lot of things for granted. Having warm meals and places to stay is not guaranteed to some people. But by saying that, there are some people and organizations out in the world who give their time and energy to help people who help out the less fortunate. For example, Titus O'Neil recently helped  give out some Ashley Home Store mattresses ( with the help of Hope to Dreams)  to some less  fortunate kids in the city of Gainesville, Florida. Everyday people get up and go to work. What is the work that they do? I don't know but I'm pretty sure there are some people out in the world work because they want a paycheck every week or so but to be truthfully honest with you guys, money doesn't drive me, passion is what drives me. I work with Catholic Charities and one of the locations that I go to helps people who have disabilities get jobs. What I do there is help people apply for jobs online. 'That is rewarding to me to. I feel like I'm doing a great service to them because if they do get a job, I know I'm one of the components that helped to get the job for them. This is one of my passions, to help All people, not just people from the disabled communities, All people. For example, a janitor is not a pleasing job in my opinion but I know that people are janitors so I'm not going knock their hustle. Yesterday, I visited a church called Union Wesley African Methodist Evangelical Zion. The pastor of the church is Rev. Alvin T. Durant. His message was Unnoticed at Your Own Party . He was referring to when Jesus was born and how people ignored him on His special day. A lot of people still don't believe in Him and I think this is so unfortunate because Jesus Christ is worth knowing!! By saying that I also don't judge people on their beliefs. I don't have anything against rappers but some of them call women "bad bitches" I know what the meaning behind that word regarding the context they are referring to. They mean attractive/sexy women but the problem I have with that is, I think they are talking about their exterior and physical features, not their interior. I'm talking about what their personality is like, what their soul is like, if they have a good or evil soul. If that "bad bitch" doesn't have a good personality or just full of themselves she is not a "bad bitch" at all. When I first listened to this song I fell in love with it because it's so true and raw. The first message that I developed from this song is to don't let your insecurities hinder your happiness. Since he won, I will respect him because he is going to be our Commander of Chief. A lot of people say fuck Donald Trump but I will continue to respect him because he is still a human being. I Last month my mother just sent my diploma to me via text.  I know this is a cliché but I had to endure blood, sweat and tears. Maybe not blood but you guys should understand the point I'm trying to make. I really worked hard for this piece of paper and I didn't do it by myself. God bestowed mercy and favor upon me during the two years I was there (I spent two years at a junior college, Mercyhurst University North East). I prayed to God each and every day to let me be diligent in my studies and let me graduate. God still is with me and He won't ever forsake me.!! I'm proud to mention God because He always comes through for me. I will continue to have God in my heart and on the tip of my tongue. I told you guys that I prayed but I also had faith and worked very hard. Having faith is so essential in these situations because you can't see faith, you just have to believe that God is going to work your situation out. Most times, He does but you have to be patient. T

When I watched this short film by Drake, I was highly impressed. If you haven't viewed the film, I have the link below. There are three parts of the film that I want to discuss with you guys. The first part I want to discuss with you guys is when Drake was at the diner and drinking coffee by himself thinking about life. This part  correlates to the part when he got into a car after a show in the beginning and he looked like he wasn't satisfied. I feel like he wants something more, other than money and fame. So I guess the definition of a "celebrity" is not what it seems. The saying is true then, that money can't buy you happiness. The next part is when he had those visions of those people disappearing and when the lady was crying. When people were disappearing that might've been  people in his life that died in the past or Drake had to cut them out of his life for good. For that lady who was crying, maybe that was a sign that everybody goes through something,

I've been deciding what these words mean to me for awhile now and I came up with an answer. These are my own definitions to these words. My definition of spiritually is when somebody may believe in more than one god. They might believe in Confucius, Buddha, Taoism or any other god. Since I'm a Christian I only believe in one supernatural being and that is God. God is the only one that I worship but I can't say that other people worship false gods because those gods aren't false gods to them. I would describe to people that I am religious because I believe in one God. So Do Not judge another person's spirituality, they might have different views from you but we are here on this earth to inspire and encourage people in unity, not in division.

I really tossed this idea of a celebrity in my mind and I recently came up with a conclusion. The conclusion is, a celebrity is just a normal person like you and me. The difference is that these people have large amounts of money. If we strip all of that money away from them, they would just be regular people without any extra incentives. I think some "celebrities" aren't grounded and they are big headed in the limelight and this makes it worse in my opinion. On the other hand a lot of celebrities are grounded and don't go into the spotlight a lot. A lot of "celebrities" are measured by their money and it is equal to success. In my opinion, I don't think this is true. Success can equate to love, giving, caring and all un-materialistic possessions. When you see a celebrity on T.V. or even in person, just picture them as regular people, please don't believe the hype!!

After I graduated from Mercyhurst, I applied and got into the Capuchin Franciscan Volunteer Corp. The Cap Corp program is a Catholic social services program. We have jobs (ministries) that we have to interview for. We are at those ministries for one year. The program has two houses. The first house is in Ohio and the second state is in the District of Columbia. I'm here in DC and a few weeks into the program, my housemates and I went to a social. Other volunteers that are volunteering around the DC area were there. I met some cool people with different backgrounds and I really enjoyed my time listening to their stories. Connecting with other people helps people grow and mature as human beings. For me personally, connecting with other people makes me communicate and if I connect with other people so often, it will heighten my communication skills. I watched this film a while ago but recently I watched this film again and this film inspired me so much. I don't know why it didn't inspire me earlier, I guess it didn't because I was younger. Despite all of Precious's setbacks, she decided to Never Give Up and not let her insecurities hinder her happiness. Even though she might've thought of giving up but it was people in her corner that had positive influences on her. That is love and support. You might feel depressed about your own situation but there is people in your corner that want you to overcome your situation. There is people rooting for you to succeed, you just have to seek them out but to be truthfully honest, they will seek you out first probably. Love and support is so crucial in the development stage and in adult life from family and friends. If you don't have that love and support , you will go through life vulnerable and with sadness in your heart. Sometimes that's not the case, people who don't have that love and support can rise up from that vulnerability and sadness and embrace life at it's fullest!! Every family is different in regards of showing love and support , some families might love and support you but they might show it in a different way than other families. My friend who went to college with me told me this just a few months ago; his mother told him that he wasn't going to be able to go to college. I really like the movie She's Out of my League but the main reason I like this movie is  because of the message. The message in my opinion was even though friends and everybody around the guy ( Jay Baruchel) thought he couldn't handle that type of successful women ( Alice Eve) but he proved everybody wrong. In the movie they were rating girls and that is so disrespectful so Do Not do this at all. I feel like rating girls/guys won't help your situation at all, it will worsen your situation. Just be a risk-taker and explore the girl or guy's dislikes and likes before you jump into the relationship. Two weeks ago, I visited a church called Michigan Park Christian Church and they had a guest speaker and his name is Rev, Dr. James Forbes and his message was about the black drape. The black drape was anything negative that consumes us. For example, the black drape could be anxiety, depression or substance abuse. His whole message was that even though we have the black drape over us, God can extinguish the black drape for good. God can extinguish the drape but we need to do our part too. Our part is that we need to pray and give our worries and troubles to the Lord and He will handle everything. People always say that they have bad days but in reality the situations in life sometimes throws you a curveball or multiple of them and you don't know how to handle those curveballs but God is still the greatest and He doesn't want us to move backwards, He wants us to always be pushing forward. Let the past be the past. Let the present be the correction of our mistakes. Be a champion

I titled this Art is Art because everything is art to me. Everything we as Americans and global ambassadors do is art. Doing your job is an art form.  For example, a scientists has several strands of an substance that will help cure cancer but when the scientist is in the process of making those several strands, he or she has to test each strand out and pick one that is the best fit and the process is the art. Another form of art are when models take pictures. The body language in which models pose for pictures is art. The angles in which they position themselves is art. I was watching the Ellen DeGeneres show and Kim Kardashian was a guest on the show and she was promoting her selfie book. I haven't bought the book but those bunch of selfies that she posed for are art. Pictures that some people think are provocative are art. I follow models on Instagram and some of those models pose provocatively but that is art to me. Not just the photos itself but the making of that photoshoot o

I don't literally mean raise hell but shake up the world by making a difference in your own life, somebody else's life, in your community and/or on the global spectrum. Shaking up the world will make your enemies teeth cringe. Don't just do it because your haters will hate it, that would be the wrong reason to do it. Shake up the world because you will feel better and whoever you help out will feel better also. Raise hell by not raising weapons but raise up positivity and love. Shaking up the world doesn't have to be a huge project, you can shake up the world  little by little and hopefully somebody will continue to shake up the world like a domino effect. Hopefully, shaking up the world will never cease, it's our job is to never let inspiration, changing the world, positivity and love fade. I haven't been to a mega church  and I don't mean any disrespect to any ministers who have mega churches but I don't understand how ministers who have mega churches may not know all of their congregation. Some ministers who have mega churches may know all of their congregation and I applaud them for getting to know their own congregation. I have always wondered about this. If I was a minister who had a mega church I would really try my best to know everybody in my congregation. The key word is try because ministers who have mega churches may try their very best to accommodate everybody but I 'm not sure, it's one of the questions that will puzzle me until I visit one and see how the minister will interact with his or her congregation. Back home, I go to a non- denominational church and even though we don't have a big congregation, my pastor's sermons are always on point. I would appreciate an always on point sermon over filled seats. This song came out close to Game 7 against Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. Even though this song was made because of the championship, I thought this song was so inspiring. When Kayne West said he got out of debt, that was so great to me because he wasn't complaining about it, he did something about it. I don't know personally how his process was but the point is that he got out of it. He didn't want his insecurities hinder his happiness and his insecurity was that debt. He wanted to get to that happiness so he eliminated that debt. We should eliminate those insecurities or obstacles as effectively as possible. This is the age where technology is taking over very rapidly. People are on their smartphones, Ipads and any other electronic device 24/7 and we as Americans shouldn't dive our faces into our screens, we should take a breather and communicate with our friends and family (face to face). I'll be honest with you guys, I'm so guilty of this but as I speak I'm going to try to limit my technology. I'm not saying I'm going to throw away technology all together but I am going to try to limit my interaction on my phone such as looking on my social media accounts.  This past semester in school I took a class called Mindful Communication and one section we learned in class is called FOMO ( Fear of Missing Out). The movie was action packed from the beginning to the end. I loved it so much!! I'm not going to spoil the entire movie just in case some people haven't seen it yet but there was a scene that really inspired me. The scene that inspired me was when the whole squad was at the bar being mad at the boss's assistant because he didn't tell them some vital information but anyways they forgave him and the way the squad walked out of the bar together was very inspirational to me. The way which they walked out together was very confident and united and that is the way the United States should conduct themselves with their allies and enemies. I am not talking about war which is depicted in the film, I'm talking about having peaceful solutions. Life is what you make it. I get down and out because of some situations in life but I know God has me and I will be victorious in all things. I also love inspiration. I love people who inspire me and I love to inspire other people. When this inspiration happens, it's a non stop cycle of inspiring and I love it so much. My former college I went to, Mercyhurst University slogan is carpe diem which means seize the day. Seizing the day is so essential if we want to fulfill an accomplish or meet a goal. Connecting and networking with people is also so essential in life because these networks will hopefully develop into long lasting friendships and partnerships. Last night I watched this film entitled Demolition and it was a very good film. The main character, Jake Gyllenhaal found a boy that eventually became his best friend. Life is very precious, take it day by day and you never know who you are going to meet along your journey.

When I first heard this song I was so inspired. I didn't know who the artist was so my niece shazamed it and I haven't heard Andra Day's music before. I will continue to listen to her because I bet many of her songs are very inspirational just like Rise Up . The message I got from this was to Rise Up  in the midst of your shortcomings. Never Give Up and don't let your insecurities hinder your happiness because you will never know what will come of anything if you take the easy way out. Life is hard but we must not let life drown us in it's despair. Life isn't always hard, it's fun and enjoyable most of the time. We have to Rise Up and conquer every obstacle that is put in our way. God molded us to be eagles and doves soaring through the skies without any limitations and we should act upon that mindset.

Plastic surgery isn't anything new, some people get it all of the time. I was recently scrolling down my Instagram feed and I saw a post that somebody wrote about her plastic surgery. She was real confident about how she looked and I applaud that certain individual because she is embracing her new look. I'm not saying her old look was bad, I don't even know what she looked liked before the surgery but I'm not going to judge her or anybody else on this topic. I think people judge too quickly on other people's actions instead of their own. This doesn't have to be solely on plastic surgery, it can be on anything. I'm pretty sure that some people who got or is getting plastic surgery is already beautiful to begin with. At the same time, I don't know what people's pasts were to make a decision to have plastic surgery but I'm still going to love and respect them as human beings because that is what we are supposed to do. I'm going to be honest with you guys, I've been really depressed lately because of this girl. I'm not going into details but she hurt me to the core. My sister told me I should get a Tinder but for some reason I don't trust  Tinder or any other dating websites. I know that God will find me a soulmate, it's just on His timing and not on my timing. I asked God to release this pain from my heart and I know He will release that pain. The key word is time.  As time goes on, God will heal and patch up my heart. The individual who got mocked works for New York Times. Even though we might be livid about this horrible act, especially the disabled community, we must be level headed in this situation. Awhile a go, I watched Jurassic World on T.V. and I watched this movie several times but in that very moment while I watching, I came to the realization that we all need to respect and have love for all animals, even the vicious ones. Even though dinosaurs were extinct for millions of years, I was thinking if I got approached by one, how would I react. I know I would be scared out of my mind, that's one thing I know for sure. Would I want to kill them if they were trying to kill me or would I  just let them go by without any action in the hands of me. You could relate this movie to the current lifestyle we are living right now. Yes it's true, I'm graduating from Mercyhurst University with a Bachelor's degree in General Studies. Sometimes I'm weak and sometimes I'm strong. I'm not talking about anything physical. I'm talking about the emotional, mental and spiritual weakness and sometimes the strength that I posses. She is in my class three times a week. and I talk to her but it seems like sometimes my communication is lacking when it shouldn't be. I view communication like a light switch. When my communication is good and effective the light switch is on and when my communication is lacking and deteriorating the light switch is off. This post is a continuation from the post I wrote yesterday about expressing yourself in a positive light. Expressing yourself is always a risk whatever your expression  is but you have to express yourself for two reasons, 1) it will help you overcome your fears and 2) you have to get out of your comfort zone. In my situation that I expressed to you guys yesterday I took a risk and got outside of my comfort zone. I didn't know if she would respond negatively or positively and that is the risk right there. Thank God she responded in a positive manner and I'm so grateful for that. So guys, take risks and get out of your comfort zones. You won't know the outcome until you have tried and when you try that you are embarking into a territory that is worth while. Your situation might not be like mine but the main thing is to express yourself in a positive light. Taking risks and getting out of your comfort zone is not easy and it's scary, trust me, I know!! 

In the previous post, I expressed my liking of messages in movies. Even though Deadpool is hilarious, the movie has valuable messages in it. The main message in my opinion is that looks are  not everything, what really matters is the personalities and attitudes of individuals. The other messages in the movie is to forgive and love unconditionally. The main character didn't forgive his enemies but the valuable message in this is to forgive the bad acts that were put on you by your enemies and Love Thy Neighbor. The main characters wife loved the main character unconditionally even though he left her all alone. I hope you guys see the movie because it is a fantastic movie starring Ryan Reynolds.

For little sibs weekend on campus  my nephew came up and we hung out the entire weekend. One night my movies nephew and I went to the movies to see Zooptopia . This movie is so good and I recommend all ages to go see it. I really like movies that have messages in them and this movie has really good messages in it in my opinion. The messages are don't let your insecurities hinder your happiness and the other message is you can make a difference regardless how small or big you are. I don't want to spoil the movie for you guys so I'm just going to stop here.

I like to express myself freely and expressing yourself means that you are not letting your insecurities hinder your happiness and that is the actual goal!! People might have certain problems in regards of you expressing yourself but disregard those people because they don't matter in these situations. The only people that matter are you and that person you are expressing yourself to. You can express yourself about anything and that can include having assertiveness, displaying affection to a girl/guy or through various art forms. A few weeks ago I expressed myself to a girl that goes to my school. I wanted to talk to her face to face but that didn't happen so I had to message her on Facebook. I didn't want to message her on Facebook because it's really not an effective way to communicate to people if you want to express yourself in an intimate way.  Since I'm in college I see beautiful girls each and every day. For the longest, I only was concerned with their exterior, not the interior. I was looking at the beauty instead of their personality. Beauty is cool but the hearts of girls are much cooler and the heart needs to be equal to the exterior beauty that they possess. For example, a girl who is beautiful, her heart needs be as beautiful  and if the outside beauty outweighs the inside beauty, she is not the one for you. You don't want a girl who's beautiful but also with an ugly personality. I made so many mistakes in regards of this but again this is what I've been through. You guys might or might've never experienced this. Nobody is perfect except God, you can still find a girl who has all around beauty, inside and outside. Everybody in life  wants to be included whether it's at school or out in the real world.  I know I wanted to be included when I was growing up. I learned a lot while I was growing up and what I learned was that being not included feels that you are not appreciated. During my high school years, I saw this kid named Ben who was sitting by himself eating his lunch and I decided to sit with him. I knew how that felt. The conversation started off rocky because he really was just having little dialogue with me. When I kept sitting with him, then he started having more dialogue with me. I guess he wanted to feel me out first. I know everybody wants to be included but the thing is to decide if that inclusion is involved with negativity or positivity. For example, if you are hanging out with gang members who commit heinous acts, you want to be included but you are doing it in a negative way. It's always good to have a solid and firm relationship with your mother and father. I was watching The Middle ( T.V. show)  last week and the son wanted his father to teach him basketball. That moment made me think of when my father and I were playing basketball with two other relatives when I was a teenager. That bonding between us was so priceless. That moment was not the last one, I have so many memories and I will continue to make memories with my father. Roles can always be switched. For example, a son and his mother can have a relationship, a mother and her daughter can have a relationship and a daughter can have a relationship with her father. All I'm saying is to cherish the moments and relationships that you have with your parents because life is too short to not cherish it. If you were in a foster care system or were raised up in unforeseen circumstances and you didn't know your parents, it's always good to reunite with them or just mend  any emotional or ment

Appreciate the little things in life. I received a package today from my father and it was a journal that has a scripture from the Bible on each page. The cover says " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"- Philippians 4:13. If you don't know the significance of that scripture, it is my favorite scripture in the Bible. My father didn't have to purchase the journal and ship it to me. He was just shopping at a store and stumbles upon the journal and he was thinking of me when he saw it.  Little things can make a lot of difference. Little things don't have to big, that's why it's called little things. Little things can stretch from smiling at somebody to giving a gift to somebody that you are thinking about without that person having a birthday or celebratory occasion. Spread those little things around to light up the world.

Have you ever cried over something for a long time. I cry about everything, about certain situations that I went through and what I go through on a daily basis. The big stereotype that society deems for men is that all men are big macho individuals who can't be emotional. Well, I truly believe that is totally false because men have feelings like women but the difference is  how they express their emotions and feelings. I just know that I'm an emotional human being that cries about the high's and lows in my life. A situation that happened to me before the new year was an emotional experience for me, I cried last night because I guess I was releasing the emotional and mental aspects of the situation from my soul, heart and mind.
