Being Free from Societal or Communal Norms

Today on this Memorial Day I saw Disobedience starring  Rachel McAdams and Rachel Weisz. This is a beautiful masterpiece. For those who haven't seen this film I highly recommend You go see it ASAP!! What I got out of this beautiful masterpiece is that nobody can hold you captive. In other words, nobody can control You in your community or in Your own house. Of course when You are little, your mother or father says take a bath, You take a bath because your parents told you take a bath. But when you get older, you can make Your  own decisions because You have the mindset to do so. In a community setting, I can imagine it can be hard for somebody to go against the grain because it may be religious restrictions or social standards that You have to abide by. I haven't been in a situation of any communal restrictions or any social standards to abide by but I know that people have to express themselves in their natural light. If You have to go against the grain in order to express Y

Power

Power is a vital quality a person or a group of people can have and there is positive and negative power in my opinion. An example of negative power is what Adolf Hitler did to the Jews during the Holocaust. I read an article in Esquire Magazine and the article was about all of the women who were sexually abused and this was during the Me Too Movement. The article also mentioned that men who did these injustices towards these women have power among the victims and the victims are in fear because of the men's social statuses. The women (victims) think nobody will believe them that these men did these injustices because of their high societal ranking.  I think power can deal with a significant amount of fear too and this would also fall into a category of negative power. An example of positive power would be organizations such as Catholic Charities and Boys & Girls Club of America that  help individuals, families and children get the necessities out of life. I saw the Avengers:

Embrace Your Differences/Insecurities

I saw I Feel Pretty starring Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski and it's an amazing film filled with laughter and happy tears. The film made me think of how some people try to fake it to make it. I don't think this is a positive method, actually I think it will hinder the person or people who are trying to apply this method to their daily life. Don't hide the way You are!! Be real with Yourself . I think there are some people out in the world that are trying to be somebody or something they are not. Embrace Your insecurities and differences for what they are and don't dwell on the imperfections and every little thing. For me, it took me along time to embrace my disability (Joubert Syndrome). I might be repeating myself but this is very important. I didn't really embrace my disability fully until the end of my eleventh year in high school. Fast forwarding up to now, I embraced my disability and I'm advocating for the Joubert Syndrome Related Disorders Foundatio

I couldn't believe I froze!! She was walking pass me to exit the restaurant too. Then Tuesday came and I was waiting for her nervously. Then she came in and then my heart started beating rapidly!! Within five minutes, I told myself just do it Noldon and I handed her the letter. She was about to open the letter and I said "no don't open it now" so she didn't. She was reading the letter as she walked out with her friend. She didn't come in yesterday so fast forward today, she came in and she immediately said hi to me. Then she gave me some news that I wasn't prepared to hear!! She told me she has a kid and she's married. Oh boy, that was some heavy news!! But its all good because I Took My Shot and even though the end result wasn't a bank shot, I tried and I will keep try
