Happy New Year: 2017

I know new years is a couple days from now but I just wanted to post this. As 2016 comes to an end, I realized I received so many blessings. I also had many trials and tribulations but I would say my blessings outweighed my trials and tribulations. I don't really make new year's resolutions but I do pray to God to help me be a better man and Christian each and every day. There is a lot of evil in the world and I don't want any of that evil to consume me. I don't like to be in a negative individual, I just like to be a positive human being. This year I was in situations that really made me mad and I always wanted to stay positive, my mindset was always like, what's the point of being negative. Even though the other individual I'm arguing with is being negative, I feel it's no reason for me to be negative back. I always step back and I pray so He can handle the situations(s) and He does on his timing. I always Pray when something overwhelms me and God will

Merry Christmas to All

I know it was a couple days ago but I Had to bring this up. Most families have great Christmas's but there are some families that don't.  I was talking to my friend today and I was explaining what Catholic Charities does. I told him that we serve people who are less fortunate than us. I also told him we serve people who are homeless and who need assistance on such things like paying their bills. The keyword that he used was thankful. We take a lot of things for granted. Having warm meals and places to stay is not guaranteed to some people. But by saying that, there are some people and organizations out in the world who give their time and energy to help people who help out the less fortunate. For example, Titus O'Neil recently helped  give out some Ashley Home Store mattresses ( with the help of Hope to Dreams)  to some less  fortunate kids in the city of Gainesville, Florida. He doesn't only do this, he does many great things to help his community and whoever needs he

Applying yourself on a daily basis

The three things that I live by are 1) Never Give Up , 2) Don't let your insecurities hinder your happiness and 3) M ake a difference in the world. I was walking to the grocery store and I saw somebody that attended the same high school as me. He said he's working but the key words that he said was I'm working, trying to get by. Later, I was thinking to myself that people shouldn't just want to get by, we should want more out of life than trying to get by. On the other hand, I can't speak for other people. I don't want to try to get by. In my opinion, people who think that are small minded individuals. I know it's so hard out in the real world, trust me!! I want 2.4 million dollars in the future, not to just be rich but to just give it to the people of this world. Anyways, in order for me to attain that amount of money, I will have to apply myself on a daily basis. I will have to make the correct moves and continue to have the faith element. I believe in m

Be passionate about what you do!

Everyday people get up and go to work. What is the work that they do? I don't know but I'm pretty sure there are some people out in the world work because they want a paycheck every week or so but to be truthfully honest with you guys, money doesn't drive me, passion is what drives me. I work with Catholic Charities and one of the locations that I go to helps people who have disabilities get jobs. What I do there is help people apply for jobs online. 'That is rewarding to me to. I feel like I'm doing a great service to them because if they do get a job, I know I'm one of the components that helped to get the job for them. This is one of my passions, to help All people, not just people from the disabled communities, All people. For example, a janitor is not a pleasing job in my opinion but I know that people are janitors so I'm not going knock their hustle. It's an art form and I commend people who are embracing this kind of art form but this kind of

Not being recognized

Yesterday, I visited a church called Union Wesley African Methodist Evangelical Zion. The pastor of the church is Rev. Alvin T. Durant. His message was Unnoticed at Your Own Party . He was referring to when Jesus was born and how people ignored him on His special day. A lot of people still don't believe in Him and I think this is so unfortunate because Jesus Christ is worth knowing!! By saying that I also don't judge people on their beliefs. I truly believe that we are here on this earth to spread positivity and love, no matter which spiritual being you believe in. When I was listening to the pastor, I couldn't help but think of the people we (Catholic Charities) serve. We serve the homeless and the lower class populations and I'm pretty sure some  people don't even care about them or glance at them because of their current situation. Some people look down at the marginalized, the outcasts, and people who have mental illnesses. Those people forget they are still hu

bad bitches ( explicit content: Beware)

I don't have anything against rappers but some of them call women "bad bitches" I know what the meaning behind that word regarding the context they are referring to. They mean attractive/sexy women but the problem I have with that is, I think they are talking about their exterior and physical features, not their interior. I'm talking about what their personality is like, what their soul is like, if they have a good or evil soul. If that "bad bitch" doesn't have a good personality or just full of themselves she is not a "bad bitch" at all. I don't like to use that word, I would prefer to use the usual word women or young ladies.  In my opinion, I think God gave all women exterior beauty but the real treasure is what's on the inside.  I would say it's a process to find that inner treasure. Since it's a process, it will take some time. Take some time for yourselves ladies to discover yourself, don't let men tear you down to the

Pray 4 Me- Rockie Fresh

When I first listened to this song I fell in love with it because it's so true and raw. The first message that I developed from this song is to don't let your insecurities hinder your happiness. Everybody has ups and downs in life but the question you have to ask yourself is, are you going to let that situation(s) get you down or are you going to make a positive out of that negative situation(s)? Some days I don't feel one hundred percent but I keep going because I have goals in life that I haven't accomplished yet. God keeps me centered and He always will lead me in the right direction in life. The other message is to Never Give Up !!  Even though certain situations in our lives might be difficult, we must N ot Give Up because if we do give up we are going to miss out on all of the people that we could've met along our journey that could've connected us to other people that will help build our future. Another reason we must not give up is because God created u
