Be The Greatness In You

When I was younger I thought my disability was a burden, Ocular Motor Apraxia and Joubert Syndrome. For some quite time I couldn't come to the realization that I had a disability. I was ashamed, I didn't want to admit that shit was part of my life. It was just like yesterday that I was in the mirror and asking God why did He give me this disability!! I was crying so hard that day but I guess I had to go through all of the trials and tribulations to realize my GREATNESS. Sometimes we have to go through some bullshit to get to the pot of gold (happiness) and/or to find our truest form of enlightenment/GREATNESS. With finding that GREATNESS and/or enlightenment we and I have to look within ourselves and accept our flaws and shortcomings from the past and deal with the flaws in the present and into the future. One perfect example is the last scene in Flight starring Denzel Washington when he was in prison he had to accept the flaws that he had but in the midst of that acceptance h...

Words of Encouragement

Image
Yesterday I called Macs Backs ( an independent book store) where you can purchase my book NightCrawlers: Unbound Emotions. You can buy my book on my website at poetrybynoldon.com. Anyways I called Macs Backs ( Cleveland Heights, Ohio) to ask if a copy of my novel has been purchased and the guy on the other end told me no but they will. The guy could've just said no and hung up the phone but he didn't. He said and I repeat no but they will. I needed those words to be spoken to me, he just lifted me up that day. Words of encouragement are very uplifting and much needed especially this day and age. Spread a word of encouragement to somebody or multiple of bodies today and many more days after.

Embarrassing moments that I laugh at

 1) I was at the Root Café one night  for open mic night and I was hungry. So I decided to to order a burrito which was vegan. It was great going in but coming out was a different story!! I'm not discrediting the Café because they have some great almond cookies, I'm just not used to vegan foods. Anyways back to the story, the Café was about to close but I needed somewhere to go to the bathroom because of that dang vegan burrito so I went to the Family Dollar across the street. I was rushing to that bathroom like a hot potato. I was so excited to reach that bathroom. When I was still at the Root Café, some droppings came out onto my underwear. At Family Dollar I used some toilet paper and then some, no wonder the toilet wasn't flushing. Then I told one of the workers that the toilet was clogged up. I had to take the bus home and all of the way home, I was thinking of my wet underwear and smell. Now I think about it, I'm pretty sure the bus smells and my smell matched tha...

The past should be the past

I'm pretty sure for the most part that We all want to evolve .  One example is we don't want to be stuck in the mud regarding life for along time, we want to dig ourselves out of the mud eventually. Sooner or later and I think at this point, its people's preference. Everybody makes mistakes,  has trials and tribulations and setbacks in life and sometimes some people want to talk about those mistakes, those setback and those trials and tribulations in the present but all of that shit was in the past. I did a lot of shit in the past that I am happy about and some stuff I'm not happy about but the point is that ALL OF THAT SHIT WAS IN THE PAST and that shouldn't interfere with my/our present and/or future.  I want to evolve and I'm pretty sure You guys want to evolve too but those people in my opinion that always bring up our past wants us to be that younger version of ourselves but we are not, we are evolving human beings. For those who talk about people's pa...

Black Excellence, Empowerment & Leadership

Image
This past week I went to a sports marketing workshop called the Marcus Graham Projec t. The workshop creates a voice to African Americans in the marketing field.  There were a few Caucasians in the workshop but after the workshop ended, it seemed like they got a little glimpse of what BLACK EXCELLENCE  looks like. There were so many young African American professionals at the workshop and I felt so EMPOWERED & ENLIGHTENED. All of us in the workshop had to break up in teams and we had to develop presentations and we had to find  a solution for social unrest through the Cleveland Browns perspective. The workshop was only four days so a lot of us were panicked about the deadline but at the end every presentation was done well. This blog isn't only about me so I uploaded some pics from the workshop. The workshop gave me insight on how marketing, on any level works. Even though I don't have a marketing background I learned a lot and absorbed so much information. I woul...

Have A Voice

You may or may not  have a voice in the beginning of your life. For example, if You are shy and lacking confidence You won't have a voice to stand up for others or most importantly, standing up for yourself. Hopefully, You will in the future. I didn't a voice when I was younger, well at least I didn't know I had a voice until much later in my life.  I didn't advocate for myself until I realized that Joubert Syndrome is part of me which was the end of eleventh and the beginning of my senior year in high school. I would say that having a voice especially having a voice to save others or standing for others comes with a great responsibility and that great responsibility is to uphold what You are saying to the certain audiences. I'm not saying You/We have to be perfect or have a straight edged lifestyle. I think it's very possible that You/We can be unperfect and still have a voice for ourselves and others.

I Pray

I pray, I  pray and I pray some more. The reason that I pray is because there are lot of blessings in my life that I'm THANKFUL for God bringing me those blessings and present and future blessings . I also pray because it's HEALING and TRANQUILITY within my body. The HEALING and TRANQUILITY deals with my favorite scripture Philippians 4:13.  If you don't know what I'm talking about search my favorite scripture on this blog and you'll find what I'm talking about. Growing up Presbyterian, I learned how to pray at an early age. I am THANKFUL for my mother bringing me to church at a young age so I can know how to pray. As I got older my prayers got more developed. For example, when I was younger I was praying not in depth but now I pray in depth. Details are so essential in my opinion and the more details that You give God the more TRANQUILITY and HEALING that You receive. I'm not saying that if You don't pray in depth  You won't get TRANQUILITY an...
