Hospitality

On Easter of last year, my mothers side of family gathered over my grandparents house. Before we ate, we prayed but before we prayed, my grandfather said that Jesus offered HOSPITALITY to everyone, especially the ones who are less fortunate. My grandfather said next year on Easter, we should bring at least one person who doesn't have anywhere to go.  This weekend I hosted my friend and his fiancée over to my apartment. In regards to HOSPITALITY, I want to say my saying is WHAT'S MINE IS YOURS. I know it's 2019 and a lot people can't be trusted but that doesn't matter to me. It matters to me but if you need to stay with me, COME ON and GET SOME SLEEP/HANG OUT or if you need something, I'll give it to you ( within my means & if I have it).

 I believe that HOSPITALITY is what you make it. For example, I don't think HOSPITALITY is Only about offering your home to someone. It also can mean how you treat people and how you greet others and how others respond to the greeting. Like, when I was living in DC, a guy who was less fortunate asked me if I had food and I pulled out a yogurt out of my backpack. He responded by saying he doesn't want that and then he walked away. The guy had HOSPITALITTY that wasn't very pleasant in my opinion but at the same time, he seemed he was in dire straights.  There is good and bad HOSPITALITY.  GIVE PEOPLE GOOD HOSPITALITY EVEN IF PEOPLE DON'T GIVE GOOD HOSPITALITY BACK!!

Respecting & Includement

I saw a TV series called Speechless on ABC and this episode was very good, especially for people who have disabilities and even the people who don't have disabilities don't like a certain word. The word is retarded. I don't like this word because somebody in high school called me that. When people say that word I always cringe up or I say don't say that. My family had a discussion about this and I just say don't say it at all. Another event that happened during this episode was when all the kids went to prom. There was one girl who was taller than the other kids at their school and JJ who's in the wheelchair started dancing with her. JJ realized she wanted to feel included so he included her. In high school, I felt excluded ( maybe partly that was my fault) but the point is that he included her because she felt excluded. Make somebody feel included, not just today but everyday. Don't let others/things to dictate on how to live your life

I'm currently involved in a situation and the situation is I messaged a girl on Facebook and the message was very personal and I told her to not share it with anybody except me and her. She shared it with people on campus. I should've known this but I'll know next time. I'm not mad at all, I've made peace with myself with the whole situation. Now people are talking around campus but the main lesson I got out of this situation is to no let my insecurities hinder my happiness. Even though people talk about me on a negative aspect but I know God is greater than any hate that you face. I also know that He will never will leave me or forsake me. I can't let things or people upset me to the point that I lose my own set of morals, values and most importantly, Sanity .
