Happy 30th to me!!

Happy 30th birthday to me!! I know it's after midnight but shit, let my birthday be extended til Martin Luther Jr. King Day. But on a serious note, I thank God for another year on His green planet. I thought about what I want to accomplish long and short term within myself. What came to mind was to grow and prosper continually without ceasing. Of course, I'm going to make some mistakes through the process of growing and prospering (I'm not talking about money) but that's just life.  Also, I want to continue to be patient with myself and hopefully others around me can be patient with me as well. For my professional life, I want to do some more background acting. that shit is fun!! I'm going to continue to read poetry and stories from different authors/poets to continue to develop my OWN writing style. In conclusion, all of this is about me developing and/or continuing a journey within myself and in the outside world.

Don't let others/things to dictate on how to live your life

I'm currently involved in a situation and the situation is I messaged a girl on Facebook and the message was very personal and I told her to not share it with anybody except me and her. She shared it with people on campus. I should've known this but I'll know next time. I'm not mad at all, I've made peace with myself with the whole situation. Now people are talking around campus but the main lesson I got out of this situation is to no let my insecurities hinder my happiness. Even though people talk about me on a negative aspect but I know God is greater than any hate that you face. I also know that He will never will leave me or forsake me. I can't let things or people upset me to the point that I lose my own set of morals, values and most importantly, Sanity .

Respecting & Includement

I saw a TV series called Speechless on ABC and this episode was very good, especially for people who have disabilities and even the people who don't have disabilities don't like a certain word. The word is retarded. I don't like this word because somebody in high school called me that. When people say that word I always cringe up or I say don't say that. My family had a discussion about this and I just say don't say it at all. Another event that happened during this episode was when all the kids went to prom. There was one girl who was taller than the other kids at their school and JJ who's in the wheelchair started dancing with her. JJ realized she wanted to feel included so he included her. In high school, I felt excluded ( maybe partly that was my fault) but the point is that he included her because she felt excluded. Make somebody feel included, not just today but everyday.
