Choose You
My definition of choosing you is to choose thyself FIRST without anybody's judgement or fear of being ridiculed. I truly believe that you have to be your own cheerleader, your parents are going to be there with you, hopefully but I think it's ultimately up to you to have that confidence and to have that drive whatever that drive entails. Maybe it's easier said than done to choose yourself but I don't think it's impossible.
When I was growing up, I didn't know how to choose myself! I was trying to figure me out and the figuring took along time but eventually I figured myself out. God, family and friends made me realize my potential. Everyday I'm choosing myself even if I'm not realizing it. I can't go in the directions that my parents or anybody else wants me to go, I have to choose my journey and destinations and that all trickles down to choosing me and I'm glad as FUCK I'm choosing me. I'm a praying man and lately, I've been praying for certain individuals that they choose themselves before others. One way that I chose myself was producing a spoken word album which is entitled From a Burden to a Gift early this year. Even though this album is streaming on all platforms and anybody can listen to it and I'm so very grateful for every stream, download and look, I made this album for me! So, in conclusion, are you choosing yourself today?
