Speak Your Art

One day I was browsing in an convenient store, they sell a lot of magazines and this one particular magazine peaked my interest. The magazine is called Bazaar but what peaked my interest was not the magazine itself, it was the model on the cover. The model is Kendall Jenner, I obviously had to pick that one up, lol. Anyways, this picture is so awesome, I had to take a picture. I really like this picture because this is a women covered in blue paint and in the midst of that covering I saw some chipped off paint and some roughness to it.  I see that roughness and chipped off paint as a metaphor of the woman struggle such as the suffrage movement and the Me Too movement. I just mentioned a couple of historic events. I wonder if the artist is really encompassing women movements and if they are, a job well done!! If not, it's an awesome piece of art work!!!

A few weeks ago I visited my cousin in New York and one day we went to the Brooklyn Museum . Many exhibits sparked my interest but one in particular truly did and that was the Infinite Blue (Women Empowerment) exhibit. This exhibit is truly remarkable because these artists that are in this exhibit are telling stories of boundless strength and effort. The fight is continuing to go on, domestically and internationally. I'm pretty sure women from all over the world are going to be heard now!!

I saw Black Panther with some family members and it was amazing from beginning to end!! I have a few of my Own words that I think will sum up the movie pretty well. The words are Black Art and Black Culture. What I mean by Black Art is that the artifacts shown in the movie are remarkable dating back centuries to African tribes. What I mean by Black Culture is that how the characters kept the African cultures alive throughout the movie. I think all people should see this movie regardless of skin color. But I truly believe if you are  going to deny this movie because of it's Black Culture and Black Art, I think you are doing yourself a disservice because you are denying a part of a human race.

The reason I entitled this post Speak Your Art  is because I think everyone should speak from their hearts in regards to something they really care about!! Art can inspire, encourage, motivate and educate the masses ( people) and we need this more than ever in this time period. Don't be afraid to Speak Your Art just because people might criticize you on having your own point of view or because you are making a positive difference in the world. Speak Your Art, Speak Your Art, Speak Your Art!!
